Project View – Add UTB

Adding an EX-8ML under-table box (or an EX-4ML or EX-UH) to a ControlSpace® Designer project is a two-step process. The first step is to locate the EX-8ML in the Dante Endpoints category of the Device List and drag it into the Project View. This is the same process as adding a DSP to your project and the EX-8ML will appear in the Project View.

Placing the EX-8ML in the Project View will cause that EX-8ML to be added to the Dante Endpoints category in the SP Tool Kit in Design View for any EX-1280C in your project. The Dante Endpoints category of the SP Tool Kit will contain only the EX series under-table boxes that have been added to the Project View but have not yet been linked to a DSP device. If no Dante® endpoints have been added to the project, or if all added Dante endpoints have been linked to a DSP device, the Dante Endpoints category of the SP Tool Kit will be empty. To link the EX-8ML to an EX-1280C, drag the EX-8ML from the SP Tool Kit to the Design View of the EX-1280C. Once the EX-8ML has been linked to an EX-1280C, it will no longer appear in the Dante Endpoints category for other EX-1280C devices unless it is deleted from the original EX-1280C.

Adding the EX-8ML to the Design View of the EX-1280C causes the audio and GPIO from the EX-8ML to be treated as part of the EX-1280C. Audio is automatically routed over Dante from the EX-8ML to the EX-1280C and control information for the GPIO is automatically synchronized between the devices. The audio and GPIO connections of the EX-8ML may be wired in the same way as the audio and GPIO connections built into the EX-1280C and may be added to Parameter Sets, Groups, and Timers just like any other object in the EX-1280C. The Dante audio channels from the EX-8ML are also available for manual Dante routing directly to any other Dante device on the network.
